The 300-year run and with extreme hardness Baptist persecution is probably the darkest chapter in the history of Berne. Launched and sustained by Pro Emmental is being held in 2007, a Baptist year, which will deepen with about 200 events for understanding the concerns of the Baptist, but will also contribute to the discussion of the history and a good future together.
While at church level quite a bit is on the move, the state of Bern has done so far barely visible to the public to contribute to the work-up of his Baptist history. In I now demanded an interpellation of the government to use the Baptist corresponding year for accents, and also mentioned the same few ideas what could be done.
A minimal requirement would in my view the erection of a monument or even better the attachment of various information boards in places that are connected with the Baptist story. For example, Berne Town Hall, Cross Square was where the pillory, Bloody Tower and other places of execution, etc.
